The birthday itself can stay home or go out. At home: the chef’s kitchen with double refrigerators handles the big cook, the dining table seats 18, the courtyard takes the toast, and the XL TVs inside and out keep the game on while the pool runs all afternoon. Out: the ride to the Quarter or Frenchmen is about ten minutes, and the team can point you to the rooms that seat the whole circle without a fight.
Guests keep grading us on exactly this trip. Grant, after a 40th at The Herald: “We came here for my 40th birthday and the house was absolutely perfect for what we needed… book it, you won’t regret it.” Another 40th crew stayed in December and “really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and outdoor space”; they hired a private chef for one night and used the big table for the dinner. The logistics stay light. The Bed Map on every villa page shows all seventeen beds, room by room, so rooms settle themselves before the flights land. Outside vendors you book yourself (decorators, bartenders, the chef somebody’s cousin swears by) are welcome and come to the gate; a full crawfish boil or a brass band for the courtyard books straight through us. One honest note: the block is residential, so outdoor quiet hours run 10pm to 8am; the living rooms and media lounge stay up as late as the party does.
