The day runs itself. Laps and hoops in the morning, the grill going by noon, a cornhole bracket on the turf through the afternoon, and game day on the XL TVs inside and out with the pool ten feet away. At night the ride to Bourbon or Frenchmen takes about ten minutes, and the hot tub waits up.
Feeding a crew is the easy part: the chef’s kitchen has double refrigerators, the outdoor kitchen has a covered patio to eat under, and a full crawfish boil or a brass band books straight through us. For the big dinner out, our big-table restaurant list has the rooms that seat a whole crew without a fight, and the Bywater keeps a few good bars within walking distance: Bacchanal, Vaughan’s, BJ’s.
